This works fine on a Mac Powerbook G4. The hitch is that you need the extra power supply if you are using a device that is supplied a large amount of power from the USB port. For example, a USB disk drive, such as a GO drive, needs the external power supply. If you plug in a device that draws a lot of power, it will lock up your machine and you will have to reboot. The power supply is OADB-0705-261G. You can ask IOGear about this.

Be sure you have reflected significantly before purchasing this product. The only things that I can use it for are my flash disks. And it speeds up the data transfer. For anything else, you MUST have the power adapter (which does not come with the cardbus). Even with the power adapter, this bus would not support a printer. Otherwise, it works fine.

Great product! The quality is superb, and, I believe people only complain that it doesn't work because the device can only provide so much phantom power to your peripherals. However, it does function with devices requiring less power, like a wireless keyboard/mouse combination or an externally powered ext. hard drive. Both work flawlessly! It does protrude a bit, but that's pretty expected.
