Let me first say that the I Live was the best sound system for the ipod for UNDER $100 which is the price I paid, brand spanking new. I looked at a variety of ipod docking sytems, from Bose to Klipsh to Logi-tech, etc., but none can compare to this one for the price. Granted Bose and Klipsh did sound better at the mid-range, but then both were considerably more expensive. At the lower end, the I Live shines over the others, and competes very well at the high range as well. Also, I found that you can turn your sound check on the ipod, and adjust the equalization, and your can get a considerably better mid-range that way. The sound from this system fills up the 40 feet or so I have from my Family Room right to the kitchen...impressive. Furthermore, you have to consider versatility when buying one of these systems, and this system just leaves the others behind...way behind. You have a decent functioning FM band, auxilaries to connect to a bigger sub-woofer if you need more bass( all these systems can use more bass), and you can connect this to a big screen to get big video with your pics, or to enhance the sound system of your tv. Besides, the remote on this system is intelligently laid out and actually WORKS. I am very pleased with this sytem thus far. I have had no trouble with the docking mechanism. I think what you have to do here is actually dock your ipod with the case still on...it seems to encourage this. I find this way there is more stabililty in the docking. In the end, I recommend this system, especially for the price. No other $100 system can compare.

I purchased this item because it does have a nice sound, however, it arrived defective. Needless to say I had bought one for my friend who tells me the display does not work now and he contacted the manufacturer and left a message no one returned his call. So having a couple of experience I think I have had it with this product.

I saw the lower end model on sale in stores for about the same price as what I paid for this little number. At first I was skeptical, b/c I had some mixed reviews and a few unfavorable reviews for some of their other products. But I looked around and kept comming back to this one item and it met the specs that I desired for my bedroom. I already had a 5.1 CH for the living area, but wanted something smaller for bedroom. I read many good reviews and took a chance, I was not disapointed. It has met my expectations and am very pleased. Makes all the dirrence when watching TV, movies, and listening to music on my MP3 or PC. Get Quality Audiio cables if you want to maximize it's potential.
