I ordered a new IPAQ 111 so I could down load my files from my previous HP Pocket PC h2215. It would not synchronize with my computer nor my HP IPAQ 2215. I was very disappointed. the CD it came with would not work.

I bought this unit to replace my Ipaq 1955, which has failed a couple of times and not quite up to par anymore. This one is much faster and gets on the internet much more easily than the old one, in spite of the fact that the instructions for making a wifi connection are poor at best, and I pretty much had to fumble around to get in. In addition, I have concerns about how well built this unit is. In the first 30 days, the display failed. It is almost impossible to get online assistance and spend 2 days trying to contact the right people at HP to get it set up for repair. After I sent it in, with a prepaid shipping box they sent me, I found that the web site that they provided for checking the status does not exist. They repaired it and got it back to me in a week, so that was good. I have been a big HP fan for many years, but believe that the good tech assist service they provided in the past no longer exists, so I will probably not buy another HP product.

Overall, an excellent PDA. Let me dispense with the negatives first. My first hp-111 would often give a blank white screen, which no soft or hard reset could fix. I returned it to Amazon within 30 days and they sent me another unit overnight. It's been a month now, no white screens. Another negative, the buttons are not perfectly flush with each other. That may matter to some. Otherwise, this is a perfect device who wants a Windows Mobile PDA without having to subscribe to a phone service. All features work well. HP's screen protectors (sold separately) are also nice: Reduces glare, and provides a pleasant surface to write on.
