At the request of Amazon I am here to write a brief review. I install fire and burglar alarms, and also use this for my telescope. I first tried a $5.99 prolific based adapter, it connected to some stuff but not faster than 19,200K. I then tried a Belkin, that one was better but it couldn't handle ODD parity or so it would seem and Belkin support claimed it was not defective and must be the equipment I'm using even though it was supposed to emulate a simple serial port to receive print outs. I explained to the support person (in India) that when I connect my equipment to a desktop pc which has a built-in serial port and it worked just fine using hyperterminal, she still wouldn't admit a problem so I returned that one, too. I get this model which was recommended by the eqpt. manufacturer and haven't had a problem since.

My wife does embroidery with a commercial machine that is quite a few years old and was originally designed to connect to a PC via a serial port. Well, as we know modern computers do not offer serial ports any longer. After some searching on the Internet I cam across one artical where an individual said he was able to connect his machine using the Keyspan High Speed USB Serial Adapter, specifically the model USA-19HS. I was able to locate the product on Amazon.com and ordered it right away. Ordering and shipping went off without any problems and the item was shipped right away, arriving within days. The product arrived sooner than promised, was well packaged and contained all necessary parts and a CD with the necessary drivers and instructions for installation. After installing the drivers and the devices as per the instructions I hooked up the machine and everything worked just as it should. I'm very happy with the purchase and could not have asked for better service from Amazon. Steve

The Keyspan USA-19HS is a great USB-serial adapter. I have purchased several - at different times - for both business and home use and have always found them to be utterly reliable; very simple to use and with what seems to be rock-solid software behind them. Under Windows I have found them to work perfectly with PMAC motion control cards and the Microchip PICstart Plus PIC programmer. Very highly recommended.
