I've been very happy with this set of headphones. The sound is great and was a terrific value for the price. If you're looking for a pair of headphones that will give you a fantastic sound but feel that spending $300 is a bit insane, buy these. The sound quality is top notch and with the money you save you can buy yourself another toy. Highly recommended.

I have had these headphones for over a year now and I thought I would contribute a review. There are plenty of reviews already but I will write one anyway. :) My experience with these headphones: When I first got these headphones I plugged them into my computer and was instantly impressed with the sound quality. however I soon realized They were extremely uneven sounding. The bass was tremendous and there was also way too much treble. the mids (vocals, guitars, etc.) were drowned out by the other frequencies. After listening for a few hours they still sounded odd and I thought I had made a huge mistake buying them. A week or two later I absolutely loved them! After "burning them in" the mids sounded perfectly fine. The bass and treble are still very strong but after a while you will learn to love the sound. Their uneven sound is the only con I can think of for them and it isn't a deal-breaker. It is significant though, so be forewarned. At least one other review says these headphones ARE even sounding, s/he/they are incorrect. Great things about these headphones: -For $70 the sound quality and sound-stage is superb. -They sound mostly powered coming out of ANY source (you can plug them straight into a tiny mp3 player and they will sound great) (this is a real selling point for these headphones) -After the band loosens up they are extremely comfortable. It's easy to forget you are wearing them. Ending notes: The statement "Explore New Sound Dimentions" isn't an exaggeration. If you've never bought an expensive pair of headphones you will be blown away. Coming out of a good sounding source like a stereo system, upgraded computer sound card, or exceptionally good sounding mp3 player, they sound surreal. Even if you don't have a really good sound source, these headphones will bring your music to life. These were my first great headphones and have inspired me to spend more money on quality audio than I ever thought I would. Be warned, you will not be able to go back to those $10 in-ear phones that came with your mp3 player.

I work in game development, which means I sit at a desk for 8-12 hours a day with headphones on non-stop. These Sennheisers have greatly impressed me, even after wearing them for hours at a time. The sound quality is better than I've had with headphones before. I usually stay under the $100 price mark, but I've had three pairs that were more expensive than the 485s, and all paled in comparison. The bass is clean and deep, tones are intricate, and distortion is non-existent. I was a bit concerned that the high range would be too brassy and tinny as can often happen with open-ear headphones, but these project a very warm, deep sound overall. This makes extended listening very pleasant. Bass is also a problem on many open-ear cans, but these have plenty. Some have complained that it's too much, but I couldn't disagree more. Comfort is good, I'd say 8/10. They've never bothered me. I've tried more comfortable ones before, but there's nothing to really complain about here once you get them adjusted well. Durability seems like it'll be good with these as well. I seem to break headbands often, probably because people come and bug me in my office so damn much, I'm constantly taking them on and off with one hand. These are no worse for the wear, thanks to the thick headband. I wouldn't recommend these for portable use... they are pretty big, and the cord is flippin' long. Good for home/desk use (especially since my computer is tucked as far away as I can get it), but bad for a Zune in the pocket. Overall I can't recommend these enough for the price. They really sound remarkable (you'll want to show them off), they look like they are straight from Halo (the game), they seem like they'll last a good while, and they are cheap. 9/10 overall.
