i have a year old mio digi walker that i bought at radio shack for $99. it seems easier to use compared with the newer mio moov 200. i bought the moov 200 on amazon for $119. so the price is really good but the interface is just okay. don't pay more than $119, i saw it also being sold at CVS recently for $129.

I purchased the Mio Moov 200 for a long road trip from Illinois through Wisconsin. Simply put the product works exactly as advertised. The text to speech directions are fairly good with pronunciation that is accurate for most streets. Routing is fairly quick and the device is good at re-routing you if you miss a turn generally within three seconds. This model does not have any of the bells and whistles of other devices like mp3 player functionality or blu-tooth, and to be honest they aren't really missed. The major draw backs of the device are few, but their are a few. First the touch screen is not always responsive to your touches. I believe it is a sensitivity issue with the large surface area of one's figures. Using the touch screen with a stylus offered much better performance. The other major drawback is the refresh rate of the screen. The distances and directions generally appear to update on your screen about once per second. When you re driving slow this is perfectly fine, but I often times found myself blowing right past a turn when in excess of 50 mph on a highway because the screen didn't update fast enough to tell me my turn was coming up. I often mis-judged 1/8 of a mile and under distances. Other then that the device works great. The voice is clear and very adjustable. The maps are generally very good and the routing functions are simple but effective.

I saw an add for another brand advertised for the same price as the nuvi 200. After checking the reviews, I found the nuvi had much better comments. I bought the nuvi, and Amazon delivered in record time, as usual. I am so impressed with the product. Something that is not clear in the description is that the nuvi does have voice directions; it just doesn't announce street names. Instead of "Turn right on First Street," you get, "in .5 miles turn right." The display is clear, bright, and easily readable. I had it up and running within minutes. It only takes about one minute after having been off for a long time to resync to the satellites. If it has been off for only an hour or less, it is ready to use as soon as you turn it on. Mine shipped with the current map software, City Navigator 2009. So far, I love my Garmin :).

This is the 4th Garmin nuvi that I have purchased and the best price by far. I was the first to get one and I am sooo impressed with it. Very user friendly and very accurate. Have bought them for my sons (they were constantly borrowing mine) who can't find their way out of a paper bag and even they are able to navigate with it. I would highly recommend this product for anyone.

I purchased this item anticipating a trip into unknown areas. I loved the low price and easy use. The set up was quick and easy, and I started using it right away. My wife liked it also, so I bought a second one for her. She's not much of a techie, but still is able to use it without trouble.

Very good product. It works very well, fast to find signal, large screen. It is perfect on United States. In South America, for instance, you do not have maps for while. In this case you will have to use an older version of Miomap.

Pro: very satisfied with this product. Initial startup went well over the internet setting it up. Scrren is large and clear, voice is clear and on the money with directions so far. Price purchased at was good. Recommend con: initial startup when being used to locate signal seems a little slow

The Mio MOOV unit was compact, with a bright screen and would be easy for travel. Unfortunately, that's where it left off. The touch screen cannot be calibrated and on the unit I had it required me to touch to the left and below the icon I needed. Try spelling when you can't tap the key properly! Once I did enter anything, it took quite a while to calculate the route, although it seemed accurate once it did. The response time after clicking an icon was very long, so I clicked multiple times on the icon, but the system thought I had clicked on subsequent screens and took me there so I could never figure out where I was in the menu. Garmin's NUVI unit is more resposive overall and is what I'm sticking with.

I bought this for my Nüvi 660. The mount that comes in the box with the 660 uses a disc and suction cup and I found that when the weather was sufficiently hot the suction cup would come lose from the disc even if the Nüvi wasn't on the mount. I also found that the disc would separate, part of it staying stuck to the dash and part staying stuck to the suction cup. This mount can't have the first problem: the base sticks to the dash with adhesive and then there's a mechanical lock attaching the base to the stalk, so the only way it can come loose is if the adhesive doesn't stick, which hasn't happened so far. I was worried when the package arrived and the description on the outside was "automotive mount for Nüvi 330 and 360", and indeed the head of the mount is not suitable for a 660. Fortunately, you can remove the head of the mount that comes with the 660 (just pull it off the ball on the stalk) and put it on this mount, and it works just fine.

I really enjoyed my Garmin GPS for the estimated arrival times when driving to visit family etc. This GPS has TERRIBLE estimated arrival times. Sometimes estimating over 45 minutes longer than it should take for only a 2 hour drive. ANNOYING!!! Also tha packaging is a beast to open, and now if I return it to Amazon I will be charged a restocking fee! Buy from a place you can easily return it if you are not 100% certain you want this GPS. Also mapshare is only free for a year. And the maps are only upgraded for free for the first 30 days after purchase. Very misleading. I am disappointed and will be going back to Garmin.

The unit is wonderful, but having wasted so many hours trying to navigate their buggy website over the past year, I cannot recommend this company. Also, you'll NEVER speak to a real person.

I got the Tom Tom One 3rd addition two months ago after seeing it was recommended in Consumer Reports. I have used it on several small trips around the state and just recently returned from a 2000 mile trip to NY. It was invaluable on that trip because I was towing a trailer, much of the time in city traffic. It was really nice to have directions about which lane to be in and which way I was to turn with advance warning so I wasn't having to swerve across four lanes of traffic at the last minute. I paid about $140 and have really gotten my money's worth. I lent it to my Mom for a trip to Florida and she was thrilled with it as well. I would like to use a high-end model just to see if the $400-600 price would warrant the difference. In either case I think it would help anyone living in a new area, anyone doing sales or service calls, traveling for business, and those who just appreciate the added piece-of-mind when traveling and never being lost at an Exxon writing directions down on a napkin.

buyer beware
Cons: I have lived in my home for ten years, and it can not find me. It takes me three blocks away and says that I am at my destination. I wonder if the owners of that home would agree. It could not get me to 27 from interstate I10, and I ended up in peoples pastures. On I75 it took me off of the route three times, just to put me right back where we started from. Only good for areas that you already know.

TomTom Review
Pros: I love this product several times without it we would of been so lost but TomTom was always there to tell us the right way. As soon as you miss your turn it recalculates to egt you back on track.
Cons: Graphics are a little poor and where we live there is a lot of streets etc not on there, but the pro is you can always submit corrections

Posted: Dec 4 2007
Pros: Works well, I like the fact that it can reconfigure your directions quickly if you miss a turn. Haven't had an opportunity to use it to go out of state yet. I like the differenct voices you can use.
Cons: Directions come up too early before a turn.

The instructions could have been a little more detailed but otherwise this is a very nice GPS unit. I would recommend it to anyone. The unit easy to use, very reliable, and has a compact modern design.

I purchased the Uniden 402 and found this unit easy to use and very reliable. The instructions that came with the unit are lacking in detail but after playing with the unit it was easy to understand how to set up what i wanted on the unit. Very nice, would recommend it to anyone.

This device has one of the excellent user interface and design when compared to Garmin and Tom Tom. The bigger screen helps in better viewing and bigger touch screen area than the other small screen products in the market. I like the lights at the sides which blinks when you need to take turn either right or left. Browsing Point of Interest feature in the map is very useful, I did not see this one in other products. The voice guidance is very pleasant and in love with the device... I named it Amanda...and it guides me where ever I go...completely satisfied with this GPS....if you would ask me I would say just go and grab it :)
