I must correct the other reviews here of this excellent product. Maxell's 16X rating indicates the MAXIMUM rotational speed at which a writer can spin the disc and still reliably write to it. A higher rating indicates a better-balanced disc. It does NOT indicate a minimum required rating for the disc writer or the speed at which a disc writer must spin the disc for the disc to function. Therefore, if you order 4X or 8X media and receive 16X instead, you should be grateful that you're getting BETTER-QUALITY discs than you ordered. Maxell's DVD-R discs are of high quality; I have never had a problem with them. I also think very highly of Maxell's CD-R products.

My DVD can only read and write at a speed no higher than 8X. Amazon's image showed an 8X. But the product delivered was a 16X. It's very frustrating to return items after waiting a week or more. Find a way of verifying the technical specifications before ordering.
