Dual subwoofers for the basshead

Someone once said that two heads are better than one and that concept has been applied in various applications. Dual subwoofers are one area where concept has been applied. Most of you may ask whether it is actually necessary. Well strictly speaking it isn’t, but for those of you who demand smooth, crisp and powerful bass without having any budget constraints would just love a dual subwoofer.

Setting aside the necessity for having two subwoofers or a dual subwoofer I am sure most of you would like to know whether two subwoofers actually make a difference. Well in simple words it does. Installing multiple or dual subwoofers will significantly improve the bass response across a wider listening area. Then again if you don’t really have that kind of listening area it would really be pointless. An ideal listening area would be a large room with a high ceiling with preferably wooden walls to prevent sound from escaping.
