Connected it to my router, connected my XBOX 360, TV, and DVD player, plugged in the switch...that was it. It's worked flawlessly since. Had it about 3 months now with zero problems. It doesn't get much easier.

This thing is an excellent little switch and without a doubt the best bang for your buck for a Gigabit capable switch. I paired this up to a Linksys Wireless N Gaming adapter and now my entire entertainment system benefits from highspeed connectivity. I use this to connect an XBox 360, PS3 and when needed my laptop. Downloadable content and system updates to all devices are outstanding. Setup is so simple. If you can plug in a cable, you can set this switch up. It really is that simple.

I just got my new switch today. As with all switches, its extremely easy to setup. Any of the 5 ports can act as a Wan port so you do not need to be concerned with which port to plug the internet/router wire. I like the dual lighting system to identify which ports are working at 1000 mbps and which ones are working at 100 mbps. There is no noise and the switch is not hot to the touch like older previous gigabit switches were. Transfer rates seem to be double what I got on FastEthernet. Of course, I am just copying and pasting with Windows Explorer which has a lot of wasteful overhead. Still, I am pleased that I am getting better performance. I did a lot of research before buying this switch. The DLink 2205 doesn't seem to have a history of networking gear dying about the time the warranty is up like netgear and even linksys now, so I hope this one lasts past the warranty period. As networking gear has gotten cheaper and cheaper, so has the life expectancy of the gear. I recommend this unit based on the price and the performance so far.
