I bought this amp as I've heard good things about Danelectro and because of the many positive reviews on Amazon.com. The overall presentation and design of the amp - including the packaging, headphones and even the supplied battery - has an attractive retro look. The sound - for the price - was initially very good and the echo effect has that great fifties "slapback" sound. Unfortunately, after using the amp for only 20 minutes, I switched the unit off and then back on and an excruciatingly LOUD, ear-damaging scream of what I can only describe as sustained feedback was generated through the headphones when the echo effect was turned on. It righted itself a while later but the problem soon recurred. I have now returned the item to Amazon. Maybe I was just unlucky and got a faulty model. It's certainly a shame as, had the amp worked properly, the whole package would have been excellent value for money and this would have been a five-star review.

My 15 year old grandson is a new electric guitar player and his playing was starting to disturb a neighbor. I have done exhaustive research on the best headset amp for the money available.........not really a close second here. He loved it and expressed nearly more gratitude for the Danelectro Honeytone Headphone Amp than all our previous gifts combined.He loved absolutely everything about it....and at this price, it includes the headphone!!!!!!!!!!! (many if not most do not). Now thinking of getting one for myself.
