Based on industry-leading port adapter technology, the PA-A1 ATM port adapter is a standards-based ATM interface that combines state-of-the-art performance with networking flexibility and investment protection, providing customers with one of the most cost-effective, yet powerful, ATM solutions in the industry.Standards-based interfaces ensure long-term interoperability with other standards-compliant ATM devices in the network. Important standards implemented in the ATM port adapter include UNI 3.0/3.1, ATM adaptation layer 5 (AAL5) and unspecified bit rate (UBR) service category for the transport of data traffic, RFC 1483 and 1577 for LAN internetworking, and ATM Forum F4 and F5 OAM flows for performance/fault monitoring.
