Its 73GB capacity coupled with 320MB/sec. transfer rates, 4.7sec. average seek times and 8MB buffer, make it a perfect choice for data warehousing, imaging and multimedia video and RAID applications among others.Plus, the Cheetah 10K.7 uses Enhanced Error Correction Code for decreasing bit error rate and better maintaining performance throughout the life of the drive resulting in a lower probability of lost data. Its Background Media Scan, a Seagate-exclusive feature, scans the media during drive idle time to preserve system bandwidth while enabling incipient errors to be corrected before data is lost.
