We recently moved our administrator console, and although is is only 6 feet away, we had to run a 75 foot cable because of the building structure. Using Belkin's 75' cable, the quality of the picture on the LCD @ 1280x1024 (Planar PX191) was horrible because of interference. We purchased the GVE120 and plugged it in with no problems. The packaging was excellent and the manual (even though not needed) was direct, although is does not explain what distances 'Short' and 'Long' are on the range switches. The biggest problem with this unit is the contrast and gamma is completely out of whack even when turning down all the settings on the monitor. We had no choice but to adjust the gamma drastically. For one of the servers we adjusted gamma to .85, Brightness to 25%, and Contrast to a whopping -120%. After all of this the picture quality is extremely good, and the response time is instant. We still have a small amount of striping and doubling on the screen, but this issue seems to be coming from the lower quality cables we have running to our KVM switch. We did not test the 'local' connection that is available, only the remote one. Overall, the item works excellent besides the gamma issues, and I am sure at even a longer range it would work equally as well.
