I was initially discouraged by reports that the FM rebroadcaster on these satellite radios did not work, but I went ahead and bought the Starmate anyway. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked, contrary to other reviews the unit will overpower all but the clearest FM signals even without hooking up the rebroadcasting antenna. I have encountered some areas where the satellite signal cannot be acquired; as my job requires me to drive all over New England, I assume that this is when a mountain is between me and the satellite. I have also noticed some static, but nothing like as bad as a radio. I would recommend this product to anyone who is stuck driving a company vehicle with no CD player, it really makes the long trips bearable.

The Sirius Starmate 4 is loaded with features, and though I have some experience in installing auto electronics, was relatively easy to install myself, despite doing so on a big truck with it's additional problems. It is easy to use, and sounds great!!

I have had this radio and associated service for a year now. I have docks in 3 cars, a cradle for my home stereo, and the boombox on my desk at work. I listen to it about 10 hours a day. Pros: presets! 30 of 'em! I can't fill them up, but that keeps me going back to the station directory and checking out new stuff. Adjustable brightness on the display. Used to keep it at full brightness (default from factory) but that was too bright at night. Dimmed it down and it's fine now. ease of use. Sure a dial would be nice, but navigating by button isn't bad and you can surf categories as well as move up and down a channel at a time. Good sound quality - with a direct connection. Audiophiles have dissagreed on this, but I have it in a '95 convertible where CD quality sound would be unnoticed due to noise from wind and loose car parts. Headphones on the boombox sound just fine to me, and I can crank the home stereo and it still sounds good to me. Durability. It has neatly withstood a year of daily switching between multiple docks and the plugs are not worn or loose. A carry case to protect it in my bag would be a nice accessory though. Song Alerts. Always nice to be able to catch my favorite songs/artists no matter what channel they are on. Cons: Build quality. Some of the buttons are quirky. The "Down" button initially didn't work at all, but later kicked in and has been intermittent since. FM transmitter. Useless. Shouldn't even include it as a "feature". In the cars I use tape adaptors in two and a direct AUX connection in the third and sound is great. Now that I have had it for a while, I can say I am happy to have this unit and the service.

I bought this for my husband for his birthday. He's a gadget lover! He loves this system! We have both Sirius & an ipod. It works great with both. We had a small cookout w/ some friends & used the system w/ our sirius radio. It worked great. The sound quality is good & we don't have a problem picking up a signal anywhere in our house!

One of my main reasons for buying this stereo was for the ability to wake up to my ipod. However, it doesn't work half the time. The directions for wake up to the ipod or sirius are abysmal. They tell you how to program the stereo to wake up, but not what to do with your ipod/sirius. I have yet to be able to figure it out which has left me using my ol' phone on through out the night with the volume up. Given my family's penchant for being "morning people" and their love of communication, this means I wake up about an hour earlier than I would prefer everyday. But that's neither here nor there. Just be aware that if you don't care for the alarm then you'll like the product. Although it is difficult to get my ipod into the cradle. I had to take off the case I had on it.

We love this! The sound quality is great. We bought it for our sirus radio, we don't have an Ipod so I don't know how it sounds with that. We haven't mounted the anntana yet, but we will. Love this product!

The primary benifit to me is the ability to easily connect to a speaker system or stereo. As others have mentioned, you can connect to your home stereo with the included RCA/phono cable but there is also another audio cable with small 1/8"(?) stereo phono plugs which allows connection to PC type speaker systems. You can connect your computer audio output to the line input on the dock and use the line out from the dock to plug into your powered computer speakers and use your computer speakers to listen to the Stiletto2 in addition to your computer audio. The 21 foot antenna wire is great to mount the antenna outside or near a widow so you can improve indoor reception. Before this we could only receive indoors using the Wi-Fi, but that only provides limited functionality. Now we can get full use of Sirius listening indoors with the Stiletto2 and not have to use headphones. Some have complained that there is no FM transnitter but that is not a big deal for me. On the negative side...it seems curious that the volume control on the remote only adjust levels on the headphones plugged into the dock. When using headphones (unless they are wireless), you would be near a volume control either on your radio, the amp or the headphones themselves. But if you are using speakers you are more likely to be farther away and have more need of a remote when wanting to adjust the volume. The mute on the remote does work so at least you can totally kill the sound if needed though it is nessesary to make all other level adjustments at the amp...even the volume control on the radio itself is disabled when plugged into the dock. I intend to see if there is a way which would let me connect some powered speakers into the dock's (standard phono) headphone jack and let me control the volume through that. Dispite those annoyances, all in all this makes the radio much more useful and I would not want to be without it.

Need a home dock for your Siruis Stiletto 2? Then look no further because this is the only choice you have.

Not sure what the other reviewer was attempting to connect to. The docking kit is made to connect to the RCA inputs on your home stereo system. If you intend to connect it to a radio that does not have RCA inputs, then I agree it would just be a fancy charger at this point. Easy to set up, however you might need an antenna extension if you do not have a window near by.

I bought this for my husband for father's day and he like it. He likes having it hooked up listening to it while watching the race on tv. It wasn't that hard for him to install inside the house but the only down side is we have to remmeber to take the radio back to the truck when we go somewhere so we can have it to listen to whlie driving. Otherwise we like it alot.

All streaming audio is blocked in our office so I ordered this product hoping to provide some entertainment during the day. Now I couldn't live without it. Installation was so easy, there was almost nothing to it. I was a little worried about the antenna reception since I'm in a large cement building but I haven't had a problem at all. There's a jack in back you can hook up a stereo, speakers or headphones to so it's pretty versatile. I highly recommend this to anyone!

We have had good luck with this item, so far. The only down side is we were using it in our basement and had it pointed through the glass of the window, and the window exterior is dirty because it's spring here and the dirt from our non-landscaped yard keeps getting on the window. As soon as we opened the window the reception was great. We actually get reception in our garage and there is no window to point it out of. We would definitely recommended purchasing this item.

Great product fairly easy to install as long as you buy the other connector piece needed and its cool to have satellite radio through the double din as opposed to external displays. Only gripe is that I have signal problems every so often where it says acquiring signal especially around buildings in the city, however part of this problem may be attributable to the windshield tint.
