I was looking for a boombox for my MP3 player with a built-in subwoofer for around 100.00 or less. Although this is designed to mate with serveral models of the Sirius portable radios, it also has an auxillary input for MP3 players or any device that can deliver music or sound through the 1/8 inch stereo plug. I've even hooked it up to my laptop and it sounds great, since you can control all the sound and effects through the laptop. With 5 speakers, one of them a subwoofer, and a lower end around 70hz according to the tech specs it won't get as low as my Altec Lansing mini-subwoofer system attached to the laptop, but it is very respectable. It is exactly what I was looking for in a 1-piece portable unit to take on roadtrips so that I can have my favorite music playing via my MP3 player wherever I am staying. It's also nice to have out on the patio when relaxing with a beer and a cigar. I highly recommend this unit if you are looking for a nice sound amplification system for your independent audio source.

This let's me take my Sirrius Radio anywhere. Or of I want, I can use it with my iPod. Great at Picnics.

I am a satellite radio junky. i have not listened to regular radio in 3 years and have no desire to go back. the problem that i have had with satellite radio is setup and signal. I've had two car units that never got a signal in my car. i had a home unit that ran extremely hot and took quite a bit of time to finally find the right spot in my home. The boombox is a godsend. i bought it and was a little nervous about setting it up. i was hoping not to be disappointed. setup was a breeze and when i slid my stratus 4 receiver in, i was good to go. sound. crisp clean sound. this is the best sound that i heard from any of my receivers. it's really not the receiver its the fact that the boombox doesnt rely on a FM frequency. I don't know all the technical specs but i gotta tell you the sound is incredible. the bass is phenominal. this little boombox definitely packs a massive punch. the sound will have your friends thinking you paid a lot more for it. From pictures i was thinking it was a big hunk of plastic but it's actually quite small. the black and silver color of the box can fit it any room against any decor. the handle looks a little blocky in pictures but is actually quite comfortable. it is really portable and would be great to take to the beach or if do construction a work site. since satellite is a relatively new concept some boxes or receivers are the first models and don't really push the envelope in terms of design or technology. however this box which was one of the first made for sirius is excellent in terms of design. its a quality product and would be hard to improve upon without sacrifice adding size, bulk, and weight. it's extremely light weight. some reviews suggest its 7 pounds w/o batteries (11 with) but i don't feel it. i'm a big strong guy but its hard to believe its that heavy. i think a little kid would have no troubles lifting it. The downside is pretty consistent on other reviews. the box does not come with a remote control. however you can find a remote control out there for maybe $10 at the most. you can adjust the volume but you can't adjust the bass or anything else. the box has about 3 or 4 buttons total. so far the bass has been just right but i havent played it at high levels so i don't know how it will be affected if you blast it. I love sirius even with my previous struggles i continued to buy receivers. i listen at work and at home and any time in between. If you are looking to join the satellite revolution start with a receiver and a boombox. easy setup, less frustrating, more enjoyment. if you can avoid having to rely on the fm frequency you will not be disappointed by your satellite experience. I definitely recommend this product.

I paid $160 installation fee to find out that the unit does not work. Ive gleaned from internet search that the wiring harness might be improperly wired, but I've not been able to secure a diagram of the correct wiring so I'm returning the unit.

Okay - so I don't have a ford car, but just getting the XM direct unit for $20 was a bargain. I bought a spare antenna for my other unit and it was $20 by itself. I noticed the price went up, but even at 50-60 bucks its still cheap. My XMDirect is used in my car at work with a small fm modulator (it sits on the floor), in my personal car on long drives (under my seat), and on my computer at home. A simple cable connects the XMDirect to the PC, and using free software, you can legally record the songs to mp3's for your player. No more buying CD's or paying to download music, or worrying about downloading music illegally! The DIN cable that comes with the ford kit can be modified for the PC, and the audio cables are useful too. About the only thing useless is the ford adapter...unless of course, you have a ford.

Took a little research to make the XM work in my 2004 Mustang Mach 1 but it now works. I had to move the location of one of the wires in the harness. Apparently Terk had a batch that their vendor messed up but after calling terk I received no help because my car wasn't supported. I pointed out that the 2004 Mustang was their installation vehicle so there was no reason why it wouldn't work. Mine said NO SAT until I moved the wire. I have posted pictures on the Mach 1 registry if anybody needs to see what wire to move. It's nice having the controls in the stereo although it is somewhat quieter than normal radio so I have to turn up the volume a bit. All in all I'm satisfied but some help would have been appreciated.

This item is a great item, the sound is superb, much better quality than my first-generation car kit. Works well with my inno, no complaints!

Works very well right out of the box.I used the tape option it work flawlessly.Running the antenna wire did require some tools.

Too many wires! The introduction of the additional FM attenna hookup is impractical and that's all we needed for our radio ... another set of wires to connect and try to hide in the car. What an ugly mess and the instructions are useless. If I really knew this option was necessary for better car audio clarity, I would of re-thought my purchase of an Inno XM radio. I do without the FM wire hook-up. I either listen until the FM reception goes or use my ear-plugs. Save your money.

We bought this home kit as an additional setup for our Pioneer Inno for XM. The Inno we bought came with a home kit, but we wanted another setup for the other room. We plugged it into the inputs on our TV and use one of the input selectors to hear it there and also use the aux jack on our Altec Lansing Ipod speaker in the bedroom to hear XM. We get great sound from each setup. We are very happy with our purchase. It comes with PLENTY of antenna wire and all the plugs and wires you'll need to hook up. Read the description carefully so you will know if it works with your other equipment.

Quick delivery and a great asset for my XM Inno radio. Now I can have it at home and at work too. Thanks! Carl

As an alternative to buying several XM radios and user accounts, I bought a couple of these docking stations so I can move the Inno from my home office to the family room to the bedroom. The Inno plugs into and out of the docking station with ease, and you have your power, antenna, and audio cables already attached.
