I thought the cable would allow an old PC with CRT output to display on the TV with DVI input, but it does not work. The description of the product on the web is deceiving, but since it is too cumbersome to return the thing, I will just swallow the loss.

This item worked as I wanted it to. I have a dual graphics card, which had DVI and Analog inputs. I wanted to run a dual monitor system, but both of my LCD screens had Analog outputs. This cable went from my monitor (analog) to my graphics card (DVI). There are several DVI's, which very in the prong scheme but a modern graphics card should accept all of the DVI's ( I, D, A). So be sure to check your equipment first.
