I love this unit....very accessible and easy to use. I also own a 16 track recorder that has been sitting on the shelf collecting dust ever since I got the Micro BR. With the Micro BR, You just turn it on and start recording and once you're comfortable with what you created, it just takes a few minutes to convert it to an MP3 (128kbps, 192kbps) or a wav file. The onboard effects are pretty good and of course you can use any other effect boxes, drums, synth, etc as an input. I have a couple of songs on Myspace made with the Micro BR, if you'd like to check it out. http://www.myspace.com/moodrays

1 g sd cards are virtually impossible to find and they will only get harder to find. I'm sure this is a nice unit, but I'm sending my back and waiting for a new model of this recorder that will be of use in the future. If you do find SD cards that can be used with this unit, it will probably be on line and you'll pay more for shipping than the card is worth. Come on, Boss/Rolland get with it. It's the 21 century.

I am so happy with this product. I can record myself playing guitar at any location. I was recording within seconds of taking it out of the box. Its easy to use. I only used the manual briefly. It has over a 100 different drum patterns to play around with and program. It also has 80 guitar effects like Metal Core (just like the Boss pedal), Smooth Lead, and my favorite, Moonage (for those strange Pink Floyd sci fi sounds.) I also like the clean sounds with reverb, chorus, and delay. It gives a nice touch to apeggios. I'm not that knowledgeable on mixing, but I'm learning as I go. Mastering and saving as an MP3 is super easy. Transferring to a computer is also easy. Just use a usb mini b. I did get the Boss PSA-120 adapter otherwise you will go through many batteries. I use it priamily to record guitar riffs, lead guitar solos, and bass lines. The bass sound is pretty good. I use a Fender P bass, just to add something to go along with the guitar chords. Four tracks is all I need right now. I can play a riff, create a solo, add bass, and use the last track for weird noises like hitting the harmonic on the 7th fret 3rd string and abusing the wammy bar. I have never used a 4-track before and I had no problems with it at all. I even recorded my Ovation acoustic electric and got a great sound on the clean setting with no other effects present. Overall, if you want to jam to your riffs or create epic songs, you can do it all with the Boss Micro Br. You are only limited by your own imagination.
