I received the item, with the box in fairly good condition. The UPS guy had to struggle to get it in the front door, as it is very heavy. After verifying I had all the pieces with the instruction manual, I set about assembling. I did the assembly myself, tho they recommend two people. I agree, it would have been better with two. Most pieces fit together pretty well, but the anchor locks that hold pieces together are a bit difficult. The pin you screw into one side can be screwed in too far, preventing the anchor lock from grabbing. What's worse is that the anchor thing will seem to lock, but later just falls out! The right support for the unit had a BIG chuck of wood missing at the top, making the appearance look pretty shabby. I found that missing piece in the box, and glued it on. That nasty looking hole is now just fine. If I had purchased this item locally, I would have returned it, but I don't want to take it apart again (ug) in order to ship it back to Amazon. Essentially, I am not impressed.

As part of my buying a Sony 46" LCD television, I ordered this Bell'O cabinet. It came well packed and, as recomended, I opened the packing and took it into the house piece by piece; the whole unit together is very heavy, which once assembled is a plus. It is sturdy. The assembly instructions are clear when followed slowly. I goofed one time when, with the cabinet resting on its top, I installed a center support that had a sticker signifying "top" with the arrow pointing up (toward the ceiling), when the top was on the floor and I should have had the arrow pointing down! (Lose 20 minutes doing some disassembling!) Every piece has a sticker indicating the code shown in the instructions, a nice feature. A tool is included for screwing things together but you will rather get a phillips screwdriver from your tool box. I chose to install the glass smoky panels in the doors; your remote can signal right through them. The solid panels are fine if you can get all remotely controlled units on the open shelf. There are very small indentations in the wood where the hinges are to be screwed in. On my unit, they were accurate and I had very little door adjusting to do. The instructions show you how to do this easily with the screwdriver. I penalized my rating by 1 star ( 1/2 star would have been more accurate) because the finish is very susceptible to scratches and nicks where the light under color is revealed. A color stick comes with the unit and does the touch-up reasonably well. Knowing all this, I would get the same unit again.

We placed a 37 inch flat screen TV on this cabinet. The cabinet is attractive, well-made and reasonable. Assembling it was not too difficult. Having a choice of glass or wood doors is a plus.
