The product is working perfectly. The packing was good, however there are some scratches on the surface of product. Can I refund or exchange it? What can I do? It should be a brand new product, isn't it?

I bought this attachment to the iPod in order to record some official school IEP meetings for which I needed legal documentation--so pretty important stuff. Now, speaking as a person who didn't even know what an iPod was when my husband got one 2 years ago, this was pretty easy to use. You just plug it in at the bottom and push the button to record. Push again to stop recording and you automatically get prompted to save. The sound quality is wicked good. I had the machine sitting in the middle of a conference table and it was able to pick up all the voices around the table. The detriment to using a traditional tape recorder is that those things often pick up the white noise from its own motor running (and sometimes the sound of the vibration of its motor while sitting on top of the table) and the quality is thus compromised. I'm thrilled with this purchase. A price worth it's contribution to making my life easier.

While this may be a great product, I gave it a very low rating to warn people who don't have the right iPod that this won't work for them. I went to the local Apple Store last night asking for the TuneTalk. When I picked up the package, the salesperson asked me what ipod I had. When I said 3g they said you're all set. The package labeling is full of fine print. On the front, it says TuneTalk Stereo for iPod then a smaller circle "Also records on 2nd & 3rd gen nanos and iPod classic (see side panel details)" On side panel, it says Works with: iPod nano* 3rd generation (video) 4GB 8 GB iPod classics iPod nano 2nd generation iPod 5th generation (video) The asterisk leads you to even smaller fine print [literally one millimeter tall, I measured it] on the bottom of the side panel: "Recording on these models is accessed through controls on your iPod." On the Belkin website, it sounds like they had other disappointed customers: Note: iPod nano 3G and iPod classic models do not support the Quick Memo button. To record voice memos with these iPod models, simply use the clickwheel on the iPod itself. I have a nano 3rd gen and found out after I bought the TuneTalk that the Quick Memo won't work.
