This is such a versatile power strip. I love that you can mount it to the underside of a desk or entertainment center out of view. It neatly holds all of the cords and big transformers or oddly-shaped plugs are not an issue where this is concerned. Belkin makes excellent products that are a dependable value at a great price. I recommend this surge protector to all of my friends. Its Joule rating is excellent as well.

I was initially happy with this surge protector, until, after three months of use, it not only failed, it destroyed two pieces of equipment first. It was definitely not overloaded--just one computer (250W), one monitor, one printer, one lamp (11W bulb) and a cellphone charger. At first I thought my computer's power supply had failed, but then an external hard drive I plugged in suddenly failed too. No thunderstorms or other electrical anomaly--this was entirely the strip's fault. I installed a new power supply on my computer, and low and behold, it worked perfectly on other strips plugged in to the same outlet, but not this one. The power supply was a cheap fix for a geek like me, but the hard drive is totally gone. Mine was probably just a bad strip, but do yourselves a favor and buy another model, just to be safe. Amazon, of course, was no help at all. The best they could do was to tell me to contact the manufacturer for a replacement, which sounds oh so exactly like what I want to do. From now on I'm buying my electronics from stores that actually offer you a refund when they sell you a defective product.

I've never been a real fan of Belkin products - as they seem to show up in Retail Store where technology is second to marketing hype, but this product turned out to be pretty useful. The outlets were spaced well to allow the wall warts to occupy just one outlet and the standup design worked better than the all on one plane from the usual companies in the surge /battery backup business. The right angle plug was useful as well. In addition the standup design kept the wires off the floor and made for a nice neat installation.
