It's no fault of the seller, but this mouse pad with rest is... well, OK, it isn't as effective as my old one, but it hasn't opened up and bled gel on me, so I see that as an advantage. The rest feels soft when you test it with your fingers, but it's firm when your not pressing on it. It's not going to make you wrist feel like it's on a queen size bed, but it'll do for the price, but be aware that less powerful mice will not be able to pick up movement due to the dark coloration, despite the reflective material, so if you're using a cheap optical or laser mouse, it's not going to work without a piece of printer paper over it.

I use a mouse all day at work and after a while a few years of this my wrist starting aching so much I almost couldn't even use a mouse anymore. So after searching online I found and ordered this mouse pad. The results were drastic - the pain is almost all gone thanks to using this mouse pad.
