I've had a pair of these for over 16 years, and paid $100 for them new. They're hooked up to my PC and are used for gaming and music. They are tough, tough, tough headphones with fantastic sound quality. What I love most is how comfortable they are even after hours of use. They do not press your outer ear against your head the way smaller sets do (which can hurt when wearing glasses). The weight is carried by the padded band atop your head. The cord is very long--always a plus. After many years, the vinyl wears away, although this doesn't affect sound or comfort--just aesthetics. While the kids are all buying ear buds for their MP3 players, I'll always prefer the extra quality and comfort of a set of good headphones like these. I also have a set of MDR-XB500's, which isolate better, but aren't nearly as comfortable.

This is actually the second pair of Sony MDR-V600 headphones I've purchased. The first pair lasted eight years, which is really something because I wear headphones 40 hours a week at work. Superb sound, superb durability, superb headphones!

I have been using this item for a one hour meditation everyday for a month already and I like it very much, it is very comfy, and the sound is great. A little heavy at the beginning but you get use to it... You can even fall asleep using it, but need to make some adjustments in your pillow otherwise will not be too comfortable. It works great with my ipod.
