Despite the exorbitant price, over time this Apple product pays for itself. Whereas formerly I would go through 2-3 per year, the "break-away" magsafe design is a money saver (not to mention lifesaver should you be down to a single power adapter). However, it frequently comes loose when I don't want it do, aborting projects while I'm using the computer in safe mode. I wish the magnetic attraction were a bit stronger. But what continually irritates me is Apple's inexplicable decision to place the Macbook's receptacle so that it faces downward. This means that I can't charge the computer unless I have it placed upside down on its top, and I can't use the computer while it's connected to electricity unless I prop up the bottom left side so it doesn't touch a flat surface. The design flaw is an even greater irritant when you like to run your computer bright, thus practically assuring that a single charge won't get you much more than an hour's worth of computer time.
