I only had this speaker for a day but I'm very satisfied so far. I bought it to listen to streaming radio over 3G iPhone. I had high expectations for the sound based on earlier reviews but I was still pleasantly surprised. Very clear and I'm able to use it with the iPhone volume at more than 80% without any negative impact on sound quality. I just briefly used it in the car today (Jeep V8) and I thought it was loud enough to use while driving. YMMV depending on what the source device can do and what the level is of the source material.

for $20 it's a great value. its small easy to transport and use. for its size it has good sound quality. its not going to blast you away or bump, but its one small speaker.

Simply put, this speaker is not anywhere near worth the $30 (or so) it usually goes for. As many other reviewers have pointed out, the on/off switch mechanism is a massive ergonomics fail -- clearly whoever designed the thing was not considering that segment of the population which is not endowed with huge hands and the brute strength of one who spends his or her days twisting rebar into quaint modernist sculptures of giraffes and butterflies. Now if it were JUST the on-off switch that was problematic, but the sound quality was great, my overall rating could have been at least one star higher, possibly two. But alas, after the first two or three uses, I started hearing a lot of crackling whenever I turned up the audio volume to even moderate levels (e.g., when trying to play a song from my ipod in the car). Moreover, the thing sucks batteries like there's no tomorrow (and the on-off switch mechanism exacerbates this), and the battery door is very poorly secured. Essentially, for something of this price and this relatively large physical size (it is about the diameter of a coffee mug), I expected better.
