This hub is fairly small, yet the plugs are spaced far enough apart to permit plugging in fat flash drives. It is self powered and had no problems running three external USB hard drives. Copying to or from a USB hard drive was as fast as being directly connected to my laptop. I did not try copying between hard drives attached to the hub.

Included in the package is the wrong AC adapter that can't even plugin. It puzzled me how this can happen. The only explaining maybe they sent me a customer returned product and the previous owner packed the wrong AC adapter with it. Very disappointing. While it works well without AC adapter on some device, any USB device that draws more power (like portable HD) will require it to be plugged in to power.

The problem with this hub is that it has horrible latency. If you're planning on plugging a thumb drive or external hard drive into this, forget it. If you're trying to run a keyboard & mouse, it'll probably work fine. Go from the point of view that anything with an extremely low data rate will work just fine, but anything else is going to have major issues.
