Bought this to use with my I-POD nano-3rd gen. Works just as good as the one that came with the I_POD.

I have one of these cables. It came with my iPod nano g3. All you have to do is plug it in... in theory. But since it was brand new, I have tried it in every usb port on my computer, front and back, and it always has the same problem: sometimes it doesn't even know it's plugged in to a device. It's the same old problem that seems to happen with these thin little wires. You turn it a little and suddenly there's a connection. You could leave it in that spot, not touch it at all, and suddenly realize it isn't connected anymore. Lately I've had to practically get into a wrestling match with it to get it to admit there's an iPod there. Yeah, I'm going to replace it, preferably with something that has no wire at all.

This product works great and works better than another cable I bought from RadioShack (DigiPower Retracable USB 2.0 for iPod). The RadioShack cable said it was USB 2.0 compliant right on the package, but every time I used it, my iPod battery would drain in ten minutes on a full charge --- synchronizing only one third of the songs. I knew it was not USB 2.0 compliant, as only USB 2.0 charges from the computer power - USB 1.1 does not. Then, when I charged the battery and loaded iTunes again, it wanted to sync from song one again (wanted to do all the songs = endless loop, would never complete). I also had problems getting the computer to recognize this RadioShack cable. I could not return this RadioShack cable, as it was a Web-Only Special Order. This Belkin cable IS USB 2.0 compliant, as I am now able to synchronize all 860 of my songs in about eight minutes without the battery draining at song 250 with the other cable --- and it charges the iPod too (unlike the RadioShack cable).
