This is my first CD-R spindle purchase. I made it based upon my satisfaction with Verbatim DVD+RW (Made in Taiwan) and DVD+R DL (Made in Singapore). Although these CD-Rs were made in India, I have not had any coasters so far. But the 9th CD-R in the spindle had what felt like a huge blotch of glue near the edge of the disc on the label side so I had to discard it. The next one was fine so I hope there are no other damaged discs which I'll have to discard.

I don't go through a lot of CDs, but so far, I've burned maybe 20 or so, and I've not had a single failure. I use CDs mostly to make copies of mp3s of my own choral compositions (done in Finale) to help my singers learn their parts easier. Playback has been perfect on each disk -- at least, my singers have had no complaints at all. Someone else mentioned the amount of surface space available for adding label info on the disk -- this has been really helpful for me. On many brands, the brand logo and extras are printed in multiple colors (or black) on the surface, and take up a huge amount of real estate. The printed Verbatim logo/etc. on this disk is silver on silver -- relatively plain -- so you can write all over it easily. And I do. Amazon's price is very good, too. Good product, good price, serves a specific purpose -- for casual use, I'd say these are an excellent choice.

Edit on 3/9/09: I found several more blanks where there was some kind of gluey substance on the label side near the edge. It made the surface kind of rough and I could not take a chance on them. Because of this, I will not purchase these again and am lower my rating to one star for quality control.
