these definitely help for carpal. my problem--mouse clicking hurts the heck out of my wrist area. of course, these give you "carpal" type pain in your elbow area although not too bad. the main problem with these mice is they deteriorate typically after a year of use. things that happen: --the cursor will suddenly shift to the far left of the screen. --the mouse won't select correctly. --clicking on something doesn't click--it either just doesn't work or it will do something else. that said, these mice have been a HUGE help. you just have to replace them much more frequently than a regular mouse.

I have been using mouse for work, 8 hours a day 5 days a week for the last many years. I was looking for a product that could make my wrists feel more comfortable. This veritcal mouse lets me keep my wrist in a comfortable position while using the mouse. This mouse causes significantly less stress to my wrist and fingers than a conventional mouse. I brought the large size, but I wish if there was an extra large size. At first, it took a few hours to get accustomed to it but after that I have been very comfortable with it.

I don't have any wrist injury but having used the mouse too often lately, decided to try this product and give my index finger a rest. In most cases, it is easy to adapt to the new posture, which is quite comfortable. The big drawback is this mouse does not have a scroll wheel. It becomes a major problem when some applications use the scroll wheel for zoom functions. Having just a third button doesn't make up for it. I end up having a regular mouse handy for applications in which I need the scroll wheel.
