I purchased this because I was having problems with my Verizon DSL connection dropping out for hours at a time. After weeks of calling Verizon they came to the conclusion that the DSL modem was at fault. Rather than purchase another plain modem I opted for an all in one unit with router and wireless all in one box. This unit being higher end than a plain Westell DSL modem required the setting of a number of parameters for the PPPoE connection to verizon to work. I called Verizon and they would not give them to me and said it was up to the manufacture to give them to me. I explained that I was connecting to their network not the manufacturers but they refused. I then reinstalled the old Westell modem and got it working long enough to search the internet for some parameters. After picking up a little info here and a little there I had what I needed which is: Internet Settings/ATM Pvc/ ATM Settings VPI/VCI 0 / 35 Encapsulation LLC QoS Class UBR PCR/SCR/MBS 4000/4000/10 Also: Enable IPSEC NAT-T Pass Through Enable Universal Plug&Play Enable MSS Clamping After getting all this into the modem/router it worked for a little while and then my connection died as before. So now I have the old modem and the new one both with the same problem which means it probably is not either one but something else. At this point I disconnected everything in the house which was connected to the phone line and started adding them back one at a time. Bottom line I found one of the DSL filters going to a phone was bad. It did not affect the phone at all but would completely stop the DSL connection. After fixing this problem the Officeconnect has worked flawlessly.

I did not purchase this router from Amazon. I have purchased it as I was not satisfied with my SpeedTouch 585V.6 performance. I was getting 1-2 ADSL Disconnections every day. So, I purchased the 3M 3CRWDR101A-75, it is working fine, easy to setup and it's having lots of good features. It can connect me to my no-ip host easily while the speedtouch was not able to do so, since the no-ip site is blocked by my isp, but 3com can connect without a problem. I highly recommend this router
