The IEEE 1394 FireWire Compatible Cable from Belkin connects your digital camcorder and other devices with a 6-pin port to your computers 4-pin port. It can transmit data at a high speed of up to 400 Mbps. The quad-shielding (S-400 specification) on the cable ensures high speed with minimal data loss. The cable is hot-pluggable and supports plug-and-play compatibility. Its twisted pair construction provides high data transfer rates while molded strain relief and PVC overmolding ensure error-free data transmissions. The outer shield and inner shield (foil and braid) ensure compliance with IEEE 1394 standards, which reduces radio frequency and electro-magnetic interference. The IEEE 1394 FireWire cable is compatible with Apple FireWire and Sony i.LINK devices.

I have a sony Video camera. To get the video off of the camera I bought this firewore cable. It bent the pins on the connector on the video camera. I had to buy another VC to put the DV tapes in to get the video into my computer. I bought a different cable for that camera.
