The Filter came in a Fellowes cardboard bag about twice its size. I thought I was going to receive it from Amazon in a similar envelope, instead I got a huge box, size of a Wii box, which was just a waste. After opening the cardboard envolope, there was a clear plastic envelope with four self adhesive tags. You stick these tags to your computer. Then the filter slides between the tags and the computer screen. The filter is pretty thick, about 1 to 1.5 mm, it dims the brightness of the screen to about 50%. You'll need to turn the brightness all the way up to confortably see your monitor. The filter came with two plastic films, one on each side, to protect it from scratches. You are supposed to remove these films before start using the filter. WHAT I LIKE: It does pretty much what it says, at about 40 degrees the filter becomes opaque. This only happens horizontally, if you view the filter vertically you don't see any changes in shade. One cool feature is that on one side the filter is GLOSSY and on the other side is MATTE, doesn't matter which side you use it works fine. In this way you can change the surface of your monitor. Fits well on my Dell Inspiron 700m, 12.1". WHAT I DON'T LIKE: Although they say the filter is for the 12.1" screen it has a 1mm clearance on each side of the screen, so you'll notice a line (where the filter does not cover the screen). Another thing that I absolutely hate is the fact that it has a semicircular notch on one side, I guess to grab it from there so you can easily remove it. However, you notice that part of your screen is not covered. Someone would notice that you have a filter on top of your screen. Bottom line: Kind of pricey but it works as advertized. This brand is one of the cheapest here on Amazon, I bought it for US$30.24 on June'09.

The product is surprisingly expensive for what you get. Amazon.com had this one for the best price by $14--but the cost is still too high. The film itself has slight streaks streaks running through the film which I find distracting when viewing the laptop screen--however the overall privacy factor particularly when working on a flight is accomplished with this product.
